What is the Rafiki Village Project?
The Rafiki Village Project is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation registered in Oregon, USA. It was founded in 2016 by David Newman. Its mission is to improve health, increase literacy, and promote economic prosperity in Tanzania by financing specific community projects in Tanzanian villages. These projects may include improving existing schools or building new ones, building health clinics, constructing infrastructure for supplying clean drinking water, installing community-based renewable energy projects, and financing community-based entrepreneurial ventures. The Rafiki Village Project either funds projects directly, or may grant small, low- or no-interest loans to communities and individuals.
